Strikeforce President Scott Coker cited a lack of depth for the reason they are going to cut the heavyweight division moving forward. Strikeforce will continue with the Heavyweight Grand Prix final between Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier some time in the spring and then cut the division. It is not known what will happen with the fighters but there is already speculation that they will be brought into the UFC to help bolster the UFC heavyweight division.

Update 5/18/2012: All fighters for tomorrow’s Strikeforce card in San Jose, CA made weight without issues.
