Ronday Rousey took a much needed vacation after taking the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title from Miesha Tate, but she is getting back into the gym in preparation for her first title defense–possibly against Sarah Kaufman. Rousey confirmed that she is will be training away from her regular gym with Nick and Nate Diaz in Stockton, CA from April 3rd-16th. Kaufman is known as a standup fighter so the Cesar team fighters will have their work cut out for them to get Rousey ready a stand up war. Rousey said she hopes training with the Diaz brothers will continue throughout her MMA career but says she is not ready to leave her team and gym in LA. Rousey says she is an LA girl and will be so for life.

Update 5/8/2012: Ronda Rousey will have her first title defense against Sarah Kaufman in August although a date and venue have not been announced. Lets see how the Diaz brothers have prepared her for a possible stand up war against Kaufman. Kaufman is 15-1 in her MMA career losing her title to Marloes Coenen back in 2010.

Update 6/26/2012: Ronda Rousey and Sarah Kaufman will meet August 18 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA. Rousey will look to defend her title and remain undefeated while Kaufman will look to get back the title she lost to Marloes Coenen nearly two years ago.
