Story:

Martin Kampmann has a knack for making comebacks lately, Friday night in Las Vegas at the TUF 15 Finale was no different. Kampmann survived a barrage in the first round against Jake Ellenberger in which he was nearly finished at one point to finish Ellenberger with knee strikes in the second. The fight closely resembled his last fight with Thiago Alves when Kampmann was bloodied and close to losing the fight before pulling out a miracle guillotine choke in the final seconds of the last round. Give credit to Kampmann though as he was still aggressive even though he was rocked in the first and bleeding profusely from his nose. The knees Kampmann delivered to Ellenberger’s face was devastating, Ellenberger crumpled quickly and covered up. Referee Steve Mazzagatti stepped in to save Ellenberger from further punishment. Many fans in the stands were booing but even Ellenberger agreed it was the right call, Ellenberger was clearly out. Kampann muddles the welterweight picture even further now as he seems to be the #1 contender in waiting while Johny Hendricks is also making a case for the top spot. Fight fans will probably agree that Kampmann and Hendricks are headed for a showdown while interim champion Carlos Condit awaits GSP‘s return from knee surgery. Kampmann has already said he is planning to relax this summer but I expect Kampmann and Hendricks to throw down some time in the fall. Here are the full fight card results:
