Originally when Jon Jones and Rashad Evans were slated to fight each other, head trainer for both fighters, Greg Jackson, pictured left, said he would step aside and let the two fight without cornering either fighter. Time seems to have changed Jackson’s mind. With Rashad Evans fully entrenched with Imperial Athletics, aka the Blackzilians in Florida, Jackson admits he is leaning towards cornering Jon Jones when the former training partners face off at UFC 145 in Atlanta, GA. At first, Jackson was back and forth due to his history with Rashad Evans, but now he feels since Evans is representing another gym, he should represent Jackson’s MMA as well. Update 2/18/2012: Jon Jones has come forward and said he does not expect Greg Jackson to corner him when he fights Rashad Evans. But there is still plenty of time for Jackson to waffle back and forth between now and then.
Update 2/19/2012: Jon Jones tweeted out last night that Greg Jackson will corner him when he faces Rashad Evans. Jones was very excited about having his head coach in his corner.
