Dana White Thinks Frankie Edgar Won At UFC 144

Source: MMA Fighting

Dana White has a dilemma on his hands with the UFC lightweight hierarchy. At the top sits newly crowned champion Benson Henderson who beat Frankie Edgar by unanimous decision at UFC 144. In White’s eyes, Edgar won the fight 3-2 rounds. Edgar believes he won the fight. So does the UFC give Edgar the immediate rematch or Pettis who beat Joe Lauzon convincingly by KO in round 1? What about the Jim Miller/ Nate Diaz winner in a few months? At this point, the decision seems to hinder on Edgar. White wants Edgar to drop to the featherweight division and challenge Jose Aldo for his title. That way, he can set up a Henderson/ Pettis rematch with the winner facing the Miller/ Diaz winner later in the year. But if Edgar were to receive an immediate rematch, there would be no reason to drop a weight class since he has been doing so well at lightweight. Indeed these are tough decisions to make. Stay tuned for updates.
