Chan Sung Jung, affectionately known as the Korean Zombie, fought his fight Tuesday night choking out Dustin Poirier with a Darce choke in the fourth round at UFC on FUEL TV 3 from Fairfax, Virginia. The four round war served as the main event of the night and it did not disappoint. Both fighters were able to impose their will throughout the fight but it was the Korean Zombie that fought his style of relentless attack scoring take downs at will. In the fourth, Jung was able to stun Poirier with a combination and then a flying knee that got Poirier to the ground where Jung sunk in his Darce choke. Clearly, Jung was the more polished fighter on the ground threatening with triangles, arm bars, and the Darce choke which won him the fight. The Korean Zombie was a major underdog coming into the fight but has surpassed all expectations since joining the UFC. His fight tonight with Poirier could easily contend as a fight of the year candidate. This kid is going places, he has put together an impressive win streak and is undefeated since joining the UFC, I think its time for a title shot. Many people pegged Poirier as the contender in waiting but he was outclassed by the Zombie’s relentless pace. After the fight, the Zombie only had one thing to say “I want Jose Aldo“. I think its time to give him what he wants. Here are the full fight card results:
